Waybar

Nitrux ships with a preconfigured Waybar. Configuration files are located in ~/.config/waybar.

Layout

  • Position → Top.
  • Style → Floating islands with rounded corners (12px) and soft shadows.
  • Color scheme → Catppuccin Mocha.
  • Font → Switzer, 13px bold.

Modules

Left:

  • Workspaces → Click to switch workspace.

Center:

  • Window title → Active window name (max 50 characters).

Right:

  • System tray → Background application icons.
  • Network → Wi-Fi SSID or Ethernet interface; click to open network settings.
  • Bluetooth → Connection count; left-click to open Bluetooth wizard, middle-click to open Bluetooth devices.
  • Power profile → Current profile (performance, balanced, power-saver).
  • Battery → Capacity percentage; warning at 30%, critical at 15%.
  • Backlight → Screen brightness percentage.
  • Audio → Volume percentage; click to open audio settings.
  • Clock → Day, date, and time; hover for calendar.
  • Notifications → SwayNC indicator; click to toggle notification panel.

Module Colors

  • Network → Yellow.
  • Bluetooth → Blue.
  • Audio → Teal.
  • Battery → Green (normal), Yellow (warning), Red (critical), Teal (charging).
  • Backlight → Peach.
  • Clock → Maroon (time), Mauve (date).
  • Power profile → Rosewater.
  • Notifications → Flamingo.

Configuration Files

  • ~/.config/waybar/config.jsonc → Module layout and behavior.
  • ~/.config/waybar/style.css → Appearance and styling.
  • ~/.config/waybar/mocha.css → Catppuccin Mocha color definitions.

Important Notes

Modules that are unavailable (e.g., Bluetooth disabled or no battery) are automatically hidden.

To restart Waybar, press Super + Shift + W
