PSA: Nitrux 2.1.0

Below is a list of post-release service announcements.

📌 PSA 02/04/22

• PSA: We have built an ISO that includes the Nvidia proprietary driver for users who cannot get to a graphical session due to either lack of support or issues with their hardware and the Nouveau open-source Nvidia driver.
  • We want to firmly emphasize that this ISO is labeled ‘unofficial’ since our policy is NOT to include proprietary software by default.
  • This ISO does not have any other changes besides the addition of the Nvidia proprietary driver.
    • To load the Nvidia driver in the Live session, you need to add modprobe.blacklist=nouveau to the menu entry in GRUB.
    • The version of the Nvidia proprietary driver included in this ISO is 510.60.02.
  • Download the ISO from this link: https://updates.nxos.org/nitrux-unofficial-nvidia-nx-desktop-20220402-amd64.iso and its checksum https://updates.nxos.org/nitrux-unofficial-nvidia-nx-desktop-20220402-amd64.md5sum.

📌 PSA 07/04/22

• PSA: We’ve updated the package nitrux-repositories-config. To update, do the following.

  • sudo apt update && sudo apt install --only-upgrade nitrux-repositories-config

📌 PSA 18/04/22

• PSA: Over the weekend, an update to Latte Dock caused Latte Dock to be removed from the root erroneously. We’ve updated the package latte-dock to version 0.10.801+nitrux+git-1. To update, do the following.

  • sudo apt update && sudo apt install latte-dock/trixie

  • If you were affected by the broken version of the package, do the following.

    • sudo apt install --reinstall latte-dock/trixie

• PSA: We’ve updated the package nitrux-repositories-config. To update, do the following.
  

  • sudo apt update && sudo apt install --only-upgrade nitrux-repositories-config

📌 PSA 22/04/22

• PSA: The following packages were upgraded a few hours ago.
  • amd64-microcode
  • intel-microcode
  • amdgpu-firmware-extra
  • linux-firmware
• To update, do the following.

  • sudo apt install --only-upgrade --no-install-recommends -o Dpkg::Options::="--force-overwrite" amdgpu-firmware-extra
